Research
Our practice-oriented research centers on devising methods and processes to aid decision-making in complex situations. In close cooperation with distinguished research partners such as the London School of Economics, our team of specialists – which includes decision analysts, psychologists, economists and political scientists – pool their expertise to facilitate the making of decisions, concentrating on the following areas, in particular:
- descriptive and prescriptive studies on the effectiveness of group decision-making processes
- refining methods to achieve effective resource allocation (in particular, budgeting processes and maximizing investment and funding potential).
- analysis and development of methods for strategic policy-making (MSP); and
- simulation studies in the field of effective negotiation management
Much of the data for our research is obtained from consulting projects and studies we have carried out. In turn, we use the results of our research and the insights we gain in our further work, to the benefit of the clients we consult.
Research on decision-making at the highest level is also conducted within our PhD program. The program provides a unique opportunity for talented graduate students, as well as management and organizational consultants with several years of practical experience in their field to work together on topics related to effective decision-making. In keeping with the Decision Institute's interdisciplinary character, their research incorporates a wide range of research interests and approaches.
